Community Service

In a caring Christian environment, students at Christ Episcopal School extend themselves to the community in many ways.

As early as preschool, students are introduced to the world in which they live through classroom discussions, field trips, and guest visitors. Further, the sense of kindness and giving is reinforced throughout the grades by the faculty, staff, and each other.

The students are taught the importance of giving of themselves to help others. This begins in chapel with thought provoking readings, homilies, and guest speakers. Tuesday Chapel offerings also raise the awareness in the students because it is designated for particular charities. Special offerings are made at the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. In eighth grade students attend a day-long retreat to awaken in students the need for outreaching to the community. There is an overall sense of the importance of helping and caring for others at Christ Episcopal School.

The seventh grade assumes a major role of coordinating several community service projects because of their leadership role in the Kiwanis Club’s Builders Club. The student elected officers organize the efforts of the class on behalf of the entire school.
